Chemical Eco-Friendly Solutions for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Systems

Any contractors working in the maintenance of Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Systems often deal with the problem of refrigerant gas leaks without analyzing the reason why they occur.

First of all it must be explained that in any Air Conditioning or Refrigeration system the compressor, which is lubricated by a specific oil, compresses a refrigerant gas which overheats when exposed to this action.

The overheated refrigerant gas passes inside a condenser which cools it partially and transforms it into a refrigerant in liquid state, then a dry filter subtracts the moisture contained in it.

The refrigerant now passes through a valve that makes it expand inside an evaporator turning it again into a very cold refrigerant gas in a gaseous state due to the expansion effect.

During these processes different chemical reactions occur, the refrigerant gas and the oil tend to decompose, releasing moisture and acids of a halogen and organic nature.

After many hours of working the system, the dry filter becomes saturated and the humidity begins to circulate freely in the system and combines with the fluorine contained in the refrigerant gas, producing acidity that irreversibly compromises many of the system parts and leading to a slow but constant corrosion of the system components, with a consequent and inevitable loss of refrigerant gas and the potential burn of the compressor above all.

Refrigerant gas leaks cause a decrease in the working pressure of the system, with consequent greater stress on the system and an inevitable loss of performances.

In addition, a percentage between 8% and 15% of the volume of the oil in the compressor is dragged by the refrigerant gas throughout the system and over time will tend to settle (“oil-fouling”) and accumulate especially inside the condenser and the evaporator, lowering the correct level of oil in the compressor and so compromising the performance of the whole system (it will provide less cold and/or less hot air).

In our laboratories we have developed a procedure composed of 4 specific additives that, used in a precise sequence, eliminate the consequences of these actions/reactions, preserving the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration System from all the problems inherent to refrigerant gas leaks and the decrease of performance.

STEP #1 consists in the insertion, with the system on, of the first additive called No-Acid Ultra, whose aim is to restore the correct Ph value of the oil.

STEP #2 After waiting at least 5 minutes after inserting No-Acid Ultra, a second additive called Super Dry Ultra must be inserted. This additive aims to eliminate all the moisture circulating in the system by incorporating inside its molecules the molecules of water that are not retained by the dry filter already saturated by the moisture.

STEP #3 After waiting for another 6 minutes, you can insert the third additive called Cool Shot Ultra, which aims to remove all the deposits of oil that have accumulated in the system, especially inside the condenser and the evaporator, that will rejoin the oil which already contains No Acid Ultra and Super Dry Ultra. At this point we will have completely detached all the oil residues inside the system and have restored the correct oil level inside the compressor.

STEP #4 After waiting at least 20 minutes, we can proceed with the insertion of the fourth additive Extreme Ultra. This additive will repair all the refrigerant gas microleaks that had been caused by acids that were formed in the oil.
