Solstice® N40 (R448A): the most energy efficient, reduced GWP alternative to R-404A/R-507
Solstice® N40 is an hydrofluoro-olefin (HFO) blend, with a significantly low GWP (reduction > 65% compared to R-404A), designed to replace R-404A/R-507 in positive displacement, direct expansion low and medium temperature commercial and industrial refrigeration equipment.
Solstice® N40 guarantees superior energy efficiency at low and medium temperature applications.
Solstice® N40 is suitable for new equipment as well as for quick and easy retrofit of existing systems operating with R-404A and R-507.
Solstice® N40 is safe, non-flammable (ASHRAE2) A1), extensively field tested and supported by major equipment and component manufacturers.
Solstice® N40 can be topped off after leaks and is miscible with POE lubricants.
Applications:
Solstice® N40 is suitable for LT and MT commercial and industrial DX refrigeration; centralized rack systems, distributed systems, walk-in coolers/freezers, preparation rooms, cold stores, plug-in cabinets, chilled vertical cabinets.
Solstice® N40 is suitable for new equipment and quick and easy retrofit of existing systems operating with R-404A / R507.
Performance:
Solstice® N40 guarantees improved performance and superior energy efficiency vs. R-404A and R-507.
In a variety of supermarket trial, Solstice® N40 demonstrated >3% lower energy consumption in LT and in some cases >8% lower energy consumption in MT applications, as
compared to R-404A.
Solstice® N40 is non ozone depleting and has a remarkable low GWP (Global Warming Potential) compared to “old” R-404A and R-507 (>65% reduction).
No equipment/lubricant/seal changes required.
Solstice® N40 is safe and nonflammable (Classe ASHRAE - A1).
Recommended Lubricants:
Solstice® N40 is miscible with POE lubricants.
KryonLight cylinders
KryonLight represents a decisive step forward in the field of refrigerant gas cylinders.
They use high-strength composite materials in the production process, making the KryonLight cylinder lightweight, ergonomic, shock-resistant and easy to handle and use.
Features:
KryonLight cylinder consists of three overlapping layers:
- internal vessel made from high performance steel, offering high strength, reduced thickness and great lightness;
- intermediate coating made with an innovative composite material of glass and polypropylene fibres (Twintex®); this coating wraps around the steel vessel, increasing its structural strength while ensuring elevated resistance to corrosion from atmospheric agents;
- external container made of polyethylene/polypropylene, with a protective and ergonomic function, customized with GeneralGas color and artwork; the cylinder is fitted with labels, directly embedded in the coating, indicating the filling charge in kg and the safety instructions for use and handling.
KryonLight cylinders meet the European Standards EN12245/EN14427, are marked TPed (π logo) and have been certified by TÜV.
Advantages:
Compared to traditional carbon steel cylinders, KryonLight cylinders offer the following advantages:
- Extreme lightness in relation to volume (22 liters); the weight of the empty cylinder is in fact only 8.5 kg including valve, which is the equivalent of a traditional carbon steel cylinder of 12.5 liters capacity;
- Equipped with a shock-resistant cushioned base: they do not damage coatings, floor tiles, skirting boards etc. They are therefore very suitable for use in environments such as offices, hospitals, banks etc.;
- Easily transportable, thanks to the ergonomic handle;
- They can be easily stacked; the ability to overlap cylinders minimizes storage space
- High resistance to corrosion
KryonLight cylinders are equipped with a double outlet valve, liquid + vapor, with connection UNI 4406 (21.7 x 1/14" RH) and safety device against overpressures.
